The Cannes Film Festival is best known for its fabulous South-of-France location, star-studded attendees and elegant, designer red carpet fashion.
Unfortunately for actress America Ferrera, a man wasn’t so much interested in her cream George Hoeika Couture gown, but rather what was under it.
Ferrera was ambushed as she posed on the red carpet with her “How to Train Your Dragon 2″ costars Cate Blanchett, Kit Harington, Djimon Hounsou and Jay Baruchel for movie’s screening. A 25-year-old man then dove under her voluminous dress, and, unknowingly, Ferrera turned around to find a security team dragging him away.
The intruder was quickly rushed away by security as double Oscar winner Cate Blanchett and Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington comforted a visibly upset Ferrera.
But the drama doesn’t seem to have bothered Ferrera, who was seen pictured with guests after the premier and later told The Hollywood Reporter that she was “over it”.
Co-star Blanchett earlier said that red carpet events had left her feeling like “merchandise”.
“It’s a little bit rude to look a woman up and down like that, and when a camera does it, it’s a bit annoying,” she told a press conference.
The Ukrainian prankster has targeted red carpet events in the past. In 2012, he attempted to kiss Will Smith on the lips, and gave awkward waist-height hugs to Leonardo DiCaprio and Bradley Cooper.
