Cindy Crawford: Legendary Supermodel to retire from modeling at 50 years old

Legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford has reportedly announced that she is retiring from the modeling world soon!.

The iconic ’90s supermodel reveals in an interview with United Airlines’s Rhapsody magazine that on her 50th birthday, on February 20th, it will the right time to step away — “Maybe not say goodbye,” she tells Rhapsody. “But move on.”

Cindy Crawford explains that she made the decision because she’s accomplished what she wants to and doesn’t feel the need to keep “proving” herself. “I’ve done it,” she says. “I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.”

Crawford’s last big modeling gig was a campaign for Balmain late last year. Throughout her career, she has worked with big brands, like Pepsi, Versace, Revlon, Guess, Maybelline, and Clairol, and covered many issues of Vogue, W, People, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, and Allure.

The Crawfords days modeling aren’t over, though. Cindy’s daughter Kaia Gerber, who is a spitting image of her supermodel mom, has already landed modeling gigs with Teen Vogue, Vogue Italia, and Steven Maisel’s children’s line.

Cindy Crawford says she is looking forward to assisting her daughter with her career. “For me, it’s like I can be an excellent guide to her in this world, but also if she has the opportunity to work with a Bruce Weber or Steven Meisel, they’ll help her learn something,” she says.
