Craft Beer Market : Olympic Village pub closes over possible norovirus outbreak

A popular Vancouver restaurant — Craft Beer Market — has temporarily closed its doors after some customers and staff got sick, possibly with Norovirus.

Anna Marie D’Angelo with Vancouver Coastal Health says there’s a possibility more people could get it but symptoms usually come on within 24 hours.

“About half a dozen patrons reported being ill on the weekend. Our environmental health officer has confirmed this week that a few staff have been ill at work as well. So there’s a potential for more patrons to become ill.”

Norovirus gives you flu-like symptoms and is highly contagious.

The close order will be in place until Coastal Health is satisfied the restaurant is clean.

D’Angelo says it may have been caused by a food handler.
