Ariana Grande is out to prove that she’s a “Dangerous Woman,” and ahead of her new album, she’s doing that with a sultry, slow-burning new single.
“Dangerous Woman,” the stylish new Grande track, was released on Thursday night (Mar. 10) and previews the pop star’s follow-up to 2014’s My Everything, due out in May.
Unlike “Focus,” which very closely followed the blueprint of Grande’s smash “Problem,” “Dangerous Woman” sounds like the singer’s sultry twist on Rihanna’s arena pop. Or, maybe, arena rock, with an extended guitar solo connecting two choruses of power chords and the instantly catchy chant, “Something ‘bout you!/Makes me feel like a dangerous woman…”
Along with the new single, the details of Dangerous Woman the album have been unveiled: the set drops on May 20, and is available for pre-order. Per iTunes, the album includes songs like “Be Alright,” “Into You” and a Lil Wayne collaboration called “Let Me Love You.”
