Incredible video shows the moment a Kentucky officer’s cruiser made contact with a deer, sending the animal flying over the vehicle’s hood and scurrying off into the woods.
Thankfully, no was hurt when a Kenton County, Kentucky police officer caught his deer encounter on dash cam.
In the video, you can see the officer driving sometime before the deer hits the vehicle and flies across the windshield.
“We think this video is a pretty good training video on how to react when a four-legged furry friend attempts to abruptly cross your path,” the Kenton County Police Department posted on its Facebook page.
The department says the officer driving the cruiser applied his brakes and steered away from the deer in a controlled manner, lessening the impact of the collision.
“Even when the large (but apparently agile and acrobatically trained) deer was performing a Triple Axel over the hood of his cruiser,” the department wrote.
While the officer was not hurt, the cruiser did sustain some damage.
As for the deer, the video shows it galloping off into the woods seemingly unharmed.
