Detroit mom killed picking up son from basketball practice ‘Video’

Detroit mom shot and killed while picking up her son at basketball practice in Detroit.

According to WXYZ, police said 43-year-old Erica Garner was picking up her 11-year-old son Wednesday, when a suspect shot her as she waited in her car. She got out of her vehicle and flagged down a witness who called 911. Garner later died from her injuries.

Police said 18-year-old Rayvon Smith and 17-year-old Ralph Anthony Marshall were arrested and charged with the shooting.

According to WDIV, Garner’s son got into the car with her without realizing she had been shot.

Marshall was arrested shortly after the shooting, and Smith was arrested Friday morning.
