“Driving drunk … I’ll be dead thanks to you”: Girl Texts Chilling Messages before Fatal Car Crash

“Driving drunk woo … I’ll be dead thanks to you.” Those were the words of Mila Dago, 22, three minutes before police say she caused a fatal crash by driving through a red light.

Mila Dago, who was 22-years-old at the time, was in the midst of a nasty break-up with her boyfriend, prosecutors say.

Throughout the night of the crash, she visited several bars and sent her boyfriend a string of angry texts.

According to the Miami Herald, Dago texted, “Driving drunk woo” and “I’ll be dead thanks to you.”

Three minutes after sending the last message, Dago ran a red light and crashed into the side of a truck.

The driver of the truck, 51-year-old Benjamin Byrum, and Dago survived the crash.

However, Dago’s passenger, 22-year-old Irina Reinoso, was killed.

On Thursday, prosecutors released new evidence, including the string of text messages.

Dago has pleaded not guilty to DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and two counts of DUI with damage to a person.
