Country singer Dustin Lynch had a full can of beer thrown at his face while performing on stage on October 17 and had to get stitches for injuries he sustained when he was struck with the can.
It all went down at the 38th Annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival in Niceville, Florida as Lynch was mid-performance. He tells People, “I was walking down the catwalk and just wham, out of nowhere this beer can just nailed me in the face.”
“It was a completely full can and it felt like a baseball had hit me,” he says. Indeed, the impact of the can was so strong, it left Lynch bleeding right there on stage.
The performer continued his set despite the blood running down his cheek. After the show he tweeted, “On my way to the hospital for a few stitches, I’ll be okay … I appreciate all of you.”
Lynch further noted, “Fyi the guy who hit me with a beer can got away…” People says a brawl broke out in the crowd as fans tried to apprehend the suspect, but no arrests were made.
He tells the magazine, “The moral of the story is don’t throw beer cans, period. It’s not cool. This guy caused an incident that almost ruined a great night.”
