“Orphan Black” lead star Tatiana Maslany is nominated in the Best Lead Actress in a Drama category at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards.
If you’re unfamiliar with the critically loved, and critically under-watched, series, Maslany plays several different roles. The show is based on a huge cloning conspiracy, and Maslany can be found playing close to half a dozen different characters in each episode. She’s scary good, and after about 20 minutes, you typically forget this is the same actress in all these diverse roles. And it seems the nominating committee has figured that out.
Beside the character listing, Maslany’s nomination includes a mind-boggling seven different characters, to the point that it almost runs out of space on the line. There’s no doubt the nomination is well deserved, so here’s hoping the Clone Club can finally bring home the gold this year.
