A 37-year-old addiction treatment centre director has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation in which police say there may be more victims.
Police said a female client was assaulted in September while seeking treatment at The Academy Addiction Treatment Centre.
The centre, which opened last December, is located at 3 Warrendale Ct., in the area of Albion Road and Kipling Avenue.
Police provided few details, but said they believe a man at the clinic “used his position of authority” to obtain sexual favours.
Following an investigation, police arrested one of the clinic’s owners. Erick Bouaziz has been charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-2300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS.

This is crazy. I was at the Academy in August and September when this happened. For starters this girl made advancements on three people being denied each time. She was eventually kicked out once she tries it on Erick. Erick is an honest guy. He took me in of the street and nurses me back to health and didn’t charge me a dime bc I was broke. He is the furthest from a sequel predator you can find and it’s disgusting how a girl can level accusations and ruin a life like this in a split second.
Based on recent events, The Academy Centre feels it necessary to advise our staff, clients and the public of the following:
Throughout the day, The Academy Centre has received a tremendous amount of support for Erick Bouaziz. However, in order to ensure that our clients continue to receive the best possible treatment, Erick has voluntarily decided to take a leave of absence from his position as Director of Operations. Erick’s lawyer has assured us that “[he] intends to plead not guilty and to defend these charges vigorously. Erick is anxious and eager to have his day in court in order to prove his innocence and show that these allegations are completely false and without merit.”
