Police south of Edmonton said Wednesday that a man in his 40s had been charged after an RCMP officer clocked a vehicle driving at more than twice the speed limit on a highway.
It was 7:45 in the morning on May 9 when an officer was travelling on Highway 19 near the Castrol Raceway and saw a black BMW M3 travelling very quickly.
The officer flipped on his radar and saw that the man was driving 248 kilometres an hour. The police officer pulled the 44-year-old over and charged him with dangerous driving under the Criminal Code.
The man is scheduled to appear in a Leduc courtroom June 18.
