Police arrested a woman just outside Buffalo, N.Y., on Wednesday for driving around with a painted cardboard version of a New York state license plate on the back of her car.
According to WGRZ, Amanda Schweickert, 28, was arrested Wednesday and charged with a felony count of possessing a forged instrument, a misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, as well as three other infractions.
An Erie County Sheriff’s deputy pulled Schweickert over in Springville after noticing that her vehicle had no front license plate and a homemade plate on the back. The plate was designed to look like a real New York license plate using blue and yellow colors plus a small icon of the state in the middle.
He also found out that “the vehicle was not registered and did not have insurance,” according to WGRZ.
Schweickert is being held at the Erie County Holding Center on $400 bail.
