Five dead in suburban Philadelphia shootings, reports say (Video)

At least five people were killed early Monday by a suspected gunman in suburban Philadelphia, according to local media.

Police told broadcaster WPVI-TV that the man is suspected of killing five people on Monday morning at three different homes northwest of Philadelphia.

The television station reports the man is holed up in a Souderton home where police say two people were killed. Police say the man is also suspected of killing three other people at different locations.

Officials are referring questions to the district attorney’s office, which did not immediately return messages left by The Associated Press.

The local school district, citing police activity in the area, has ordered students and teachers to shelter in place until further notice.
