Gigi Jordan took the witness stand on Wednesday to admit she ended her son’s life inside the Peninsula Hotel room on February 5, 2010.
Gigi Jordan, 53, testified in State Supreme Court in Manhattan that she gave the drugs to her son, Jude Mirra, as well as herself, expecting to end both their lives on Feb. 5, 2010, at the Peninsula Hotel.
Her lawyer, Allen Brenner, asked if she intended both herself and her son to die.
“Yes, I did,” she said, weeping.
She denied the prosecutors’ argument, that she violently forced the lethal cocktail down her son’s throat with a syringe and intentionally did not swallow enough pills to kill herself
When Brenner asked if that was what she did, Jordan responded, “No I did not.”
Jordan has never denied killing her son, but described it as a mercy killing. Her lawyers argue she was under emotional distress and believed she was going to be killed.
They said she was afraid her second husband would get custody of her son if she died, and she blamed him for beating and raping the boy.
