Lea Michele’s “Cannonball” video has been unleashed into the world, and the Glee star is now gearing up for the release of her first album. The first single off her upcoming record, Louder, “Cannonball” is an emotional piano piece that seems designed to showcase Michele’s solid vocals. The video accompanying the song was exactly that as well.
Tacky song title aside – to put out a track called ‘Cannonball’ after all the attention ‘Wrecking Ball’ has gotten seems overly derivative and outright silly – the whole thing instilled in me a sense of wanting something more raw and personal.
The video should reflect the song’s emotional lyrics, which I can only assume deal with Cory Monteith’s passing, right? Right.
Then why does nothing happen? Everything is so sterile and so predictable that it takes away from any sort of emotion Lea might have wanted to convey. Even her powerful voice is dimmed by all those dull visuals.
Here’s hoping her next vid is nothing like this one. *yawn*
