Heather Hicks Ervin : Producer for KoMut Entertainment Dies at 39

Heather Hicks Ervin, coordinating producer for KoMut Entertainment, died unexpectedly Dec. 22 in New York City. She was 39.

She was promoted to coordinating producer in 2006, working closely on all aspects of creative and production affairs including the upcoming show “Buzzy’s.” Ervin worked with Mutchnick on creative affairs for his new company, including on the new HBO show “Quick Shots of False Hope.”Kohan and Mutchnick said in a statement: “We’ve lost so much more than the woman who ran the daily operations of our company for the last 12 years. We lost a surrogate mother, a moral compass, a joyous presence, a sharp and organized thinker, a drinking buddy, a truly funny person, and a deeply kind, deeply loving soul.”

Heather Hicks Ervin previously worked in New York as executive assistant at Viacom and manager in production events for MTV.

Born in Clifton Park, New York, she graduated from American U. and started her entertainment career as an assistant in the events department at Radio City Productions.

The funeral will be held in New York on Saturday, Dec. 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9 in Clifton Park. A Los Angeles memorial is set for Thursday, January 8, at Warner Bros.

Donations may be made to a scholarship fund being established for her two children via You Caring or the Matthew & James Ervin Fund, c/o KoMut Entertainment, 4000 Warner Boulevard, Building 140, Suite 201, Burbank, CA 91522.

Heather Hicks Ervin is survived by her husband, Jason Ervin, and two young sons.
