More than once, Heidi has unbelievably shimmied off post-pregnancy weight in record time with stellar diet and fitness pizazz while under the tutelage of celebrity personal trainer David Kirsch. Klum’s most bewildering weight loss surprise took place in 2009 when, in less than three months, the Victoria’s Secret Angel lost 45 pounds in three months and wowed the audience at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show when she walked the runway in skimpy lingerie (see photos here).
That was after Heidi and husband Seal’s fourth child, baby girl Lou, born in October of 2009. Two years later, Klum says it still isn’t easy to stay thin, but healthy eating and a few tricks of the trade keep her on the right path to healthy and slim.

Use weights. Heidi turns to PT Kirsch for his rocking strength training and diet plan. Sure the supermodel tosses in cardio (i.e. her recent jog with fellow VS panty prowess Brooklyn Decker here), but she also gets busy in the weight room with moves like these.
Go on the supermodel anti-window diet. If it comes from a window, bag or box, Heidi Klum won’t touch it. She fesses up to Glamour that “eating as few foods that come from a bag or a box as possible” is key in a healthy diet. Despite the sexy commercial filmed for Dannon, Heidi says she most often relies on home cooking, including better-for-you versions of German cuisine and consistent consumption of fresh fruits and veggies into every meal.
Get real to get skinny. Klum doesn’t rely on anything but hard work and discipline for a strong diet and fitness routine. The international superstar didn’t turn to special weight-loss pregnancy stomach wraps or diet pills when she needed to slim down. In an interview with NewParent magazine, Klum said: “For me, it’s, you know, really healthy foods, exercising, playing with the children, going to the park – normal things.”
Find a driving force. When Klum was feeling pressure to take on the Victoria’s Secret runway and telling the press her “body was not so cute after baby,” she still found the inspiration she needed to stick to her plan and not get side-tracked by liverwurst temptations or fast food. She said in November 2009, “I think that if you wait too long and it sticks there, it stays that way forever. I have to stay motivated.” Whether it’s playing with her kids, running with a supermodel pal or reminding herself she’s committed, Klum stays on a dedicated plan – even through down days.
