The previous Hitman beta took place this month. Actually it took place a couple of weeks ago on the 12th of February for PlayStation 4 gamers, and the 19th of February for PC gamers. However this beta was limited to those who had pre-ordered the game. Now if you’re still unsure if you should order the game before the reviews, here’s a chance for you to try the game.
The reopened beta will only be around for that weekend, but it should help fans of the series deal with the excitement provoked by the release of the game’s opening cinematic trailer.
The super-detailed video shows a history of Agent 47’s exploits, reimagining famous hits from earlier games.
Players will get more of this backstory when they get their hands on the game – the prologue starts at the very beginning of 47’s career with the ICA, twenty years before the game’s first full mission, at a high-profile fashion show in Paris.
The game’s developers, Io Interactive, are billing Hitman as the first ‘fully episodic’ Triple-A game. The first few locations will come out on 11 March, with more being released throughout the year.
The company hopes the game’s replayability factor and huge range of modes will keep gamers occupied in the time between episode releases.
We got a chance to play a preview of the game a few weeks ago, and we were very impressed. Launch day can’t come soon enough.
