Combined January sales of 7,561 units by the Honda and Acura divisions of Honda Canada Inc. represented a 2% decrease over last year’s sales. The Honda Automobile Division reported January sales of 6,554 units, down 4% versus last year. The Acura Division reported January sales of 1,007 units, up 10% over last year.
“We’re coming off the best sales year in our history and while our January figures are lower than expected we’re confident we will bounce back, especially with the highly anticipated Honda HR-V and refreshed Acura ILX coming to market in the next few months,” said Dave Gardner, senior vice president of operations, Honda Canada Inc.
“In January, we saw strong sales performance from our refreshed core models like the Honda Fit – AJAC’s Best New Small Car under $21k – and the Canadian-made Honda CR-V. The Acura luxury brand has jumped ahead of expectations with a 10 per cent increase over last year, thanks to the impressive RDX.”
