“House of Cards” actress Elizabeth Norment, who portrayed the role of Nancy Kaufberger on the Netflix series, has died at the age of 61.
She passed away on October 13 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, her sister Kate confirmed.
“Everyone at House of Cards is deeply saddened by Elizabeth’s passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all,” series showrunner Beau Willimon said.
“Elizabeth Norment was a talented actress with a beautiful spirit who touched the entire House of Cards family,” added execs at production company MRC.
Norment also had roles on LA Law, Hooperman and Doogie Howser, MD.
She appeared as well in the films The Woman in Red, Runaway and Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.
The actress additionally had a long career in theatre, starring in the likes of As You Like It and Much Ado About Nothing at the Grove Shakespeare Festival in Garden Grove, California.
Elizabeth Norment is survived by her mother, three sisters, her brother and six nieces and nephews.
