Idaho Cow Escapes to Avoid Slaughter, a 1,000-pound cow being prepared for slaughter jumped a 6-foot fence and bolted through the streets of Pocatello before police shot and killed it following a lengthy pursuit.

Police were called within minutes, and were quickly able to shoot the cow in the head … only to watch it bolt past the police cars that were positioned to block its path.
On its wild run, the heifer nearly caused a car crash on a major road, and rammed into an animal control truck as well as two police cars.
The cow also ran through a playground and police were worried the animal could easily trample someone.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the unusual ordeal.
Once the animal wandered into a residential backyard, cops shot it once more in the head, where it died instantly.
The cow’s body was promptly brought right back to the meat packing facility.
