It is bad enough making a bit of a mistake in your workplace. When your workplace happens to be the US Dancing with the Stars finale, in front of a live televised audience of more than 11 million viewers, you’re in nightmare territory.
Such was the case for the Australian singer, MC and model Iggy Azalea on Tuesday night, when her in-ear monitors malfunctioned, throwing her off her vocal as she performed her current hit Fancy.
“I’m so sorry but there’s something wrong with my ear,” Azalea was forced to say a couple of lines into the song – lines which had awkwardly overlapped out of sync with additional vocals from a backing track.
Once she was backstage Iggy tweeted her apologies, explaining to her one million followers: ‘I am so sorry guys! My in ears messed up and I couldn’t hear the track.’
She added: ‘The dramas of live TV. S*** happens. Still really enjoyed it.’
It was a great performance nonetheless, and she was joined by singer Charli XCX who features on the track.
There was a prom theme and Iggy was wearing a retro yellow plaid dress in a 1950s cut.
