A GRIEVING dad received an overwhelming response from internet users when he asked them to photoshop a picture of his tragic baby daughter so she looked healthy.
Nathan Steffel appealed online for help to digitally remove the medical tubes from the only photos he has of little Sophia, who died of a liver condition.
“My daughter recently passed away after a long battle in the children’s hospital,” Steffel wrote. “Since she was in the hospital her whole life, we never were able to get a photo without all her tubes. Can someone remove the tubes from this photo?”
Steffel, from Ohio, wrote that Sophia was born on May 30, and was born with hepatic hemangioma, a liver tumor. Sophia died just six weeks later, on July 10, at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
“She was on the waiting list for her liver when she passed from complications involving the pressure on her abdomen due to the hemangioma,” Steffel wrote.
Sophia spent much of her life at the children’s hospitals in Columbus, OH and Cincinnati. Cincinnati’s hospital, Steffel explained to one redditor, has numerous liver surgeons and specialists.
