Just when it appeared that the dust had finally settled around the remnants of any Jackson family drama, some little-known relatives of the famous musical brood have emerged from virtual obscurity to bring their story to the spotlight. Billboard reports that extended members of the Jackson family has signed on to star in a reality show set to debut November 18 on Reelz.
The primary figure of the show will be Alejandra, who is a single mother to five children and attempting to relaunch her fashion line with her brother in Peru.
Her offspring will also feature in the show. Alejandra has a daughter, Genevieve, and son, Randy Jr, from her relationship with Randy Jackson.
Genevieve is also suffering from the pain of her estranged relationship with her father, an issue which frustrates her brother, who wants to move on from the past.
Jaafar and Jermajesty, Alejandra’s teenage sons with ex-husband Jermaine Jackson, will also live in the house. Jaafar is described as the “heartthrob of the bunch” who is keen to celebrate his 18th birthday in “true Jackson fashion”.
Meanwhile, 13-year-old Jermajesty is working to develop his talents while living in the shadow of his famous relatives.
Finally, Donte is Katherine and Joe Jackson’s adopted son, who was in fact raised by Alejandra and Jermaine. Living with the Jacksons sees Donte telling the story of his adoption for the first time.
Rob Swartz, SVP of Development and Current Programming at Reelz, said: “The Jackson family’s journey has been a topic of interest for decades, and we’re fortunate to be able to share this first-hand account with our viewers.
“The series provides an emotional and entertaining insight into an extraordinary yet familiar family dynamic, ideal for the network’s ‘Hollywood Happens Here’ programming slate. Living with the Jacksons is truly a show worth finding.”
