A talented Mexican scientist who has been on the run for a year after he allegedly strangled and dismembered a 19-year-old woman has finally been arrested, the Metro reported Friday.
The 23-year-old has admitted to killing 19-year-old Sandra Camacho, who disappeared last June.
He had lured her to his house by telling her he could get work as a model.
“He met the victim on a social network where he pretended he could help find her a job,” said Rodolfo Rios Garza, Mexico City’s attorney general.
“He says that when she there there was no job they started to argue and then he pushed her and injured her head. Moments later, the girl started to scream and then he strangled her until she was dead,” reported Metro.
Afterwards he dismembered her body and placed the parts into rubbish bags. He then put these out with the general refuse. Then Mendez Ovalle went on the run.
He was tracked down in the central Mexican city of San Juan del Rio.
