Johnny Fratto has died after a battle with lung cancer, TMZ reports. He was 61.
Johnny Fratto passed away peacefully at 12:06 a.m. surrounded by family. His wife Ivanka first confirmed his passing today.
“Howard Stern Show” regular was the son of famous mob boss Louis Fratto, a major shot caller in Chicago, Illinois and Iowa in the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s.
Besides appearing on Stern, where he became a quasi-celebrity, Fratto ran several businesses, including Beverly Hills Choppers.
After hearing about Fratto’s death, fans took to social media to pay tribute. One commenter tweeted, echoing the sentiments of many:
“Sad to hear about the passing of @JOHNNYFRATTO. He was a great guest on @HowardStern and always good for a laugh. RIP.”
“Very sad to hear of Johnny Fratto’s passing, hope he is with Eric right now,” a second fan added. “You know what to do Johnny.”
Fellow Wack Pack member Eric the Actor died at 39 in September 2014, while Artie Lange has come close at least once in recent years.
Fratto, who listed Eric as his “friend” under his Twitter bio, is survived by his wife and his actor son, Johnny Fratto Jr. R.I.P.
