Radio icon Casey Kasem was laid to rest in Norway, 6 months after his death in Washington.
[fwdevp preset_id=”8″ video_path=”LPKTK_hIvkw”]Via TMZ we learn that authorities launched an investigation after Kasem’s kids filed a police report claiming Jean’s abuse of their infirm and helpless father caused Casey to get bed sores that became infected and contributed to his death.
The kids claim Jean was more interested in keeping their dad from them than protecting him, which is why they say she took Casey on a wild, multi-state car ride shortly before his death.
But now, with Casey’s remains reportedly buried in Norway’s largest cemetery, the Vestre Gravlund in Oslo, any investigation that may have been ongoing into the circumstances surrounding Kasem’s death will be greatly complicated.
The body has been rotting away for months — for a long period of time it wasn’t even embalmed.
The decay and now the burial in a foreign land will make it virtually impossible for L.A. authorities to make a solid determination on whether the bed sores contributed to Casey’s death.
The final chapter in the sad saga of Casey Kasem’s last days began on May 12, 2014, when his daughter Kerri was granted conservatorship for her father over Jean Kasem’s objection.
The court ordered an investigation into Casey Kasem’s whereabouts when the radio icon subsequently disappeared. After a lengthy search, Casey was located in Washington state, and Kerri Kasem was granted custody.
It wasn’t long, though, before Casey Kasem died — on June 15, 2014, aged 82. His widow, Jean, was then given her husband’s body for burial arrangements. Only now has that burial reportedly taken place.
