Kate Upton has revealed that social media and internet have prevented her from “artistic” nude shots for camera.
The 21-year-old Sports Illustrated model said that body was an “art” in itself, and should be received positively when photographed, instead of the way “not-so good” blogs or online media portrays it, the Fox News reported.
Speaking to Details, she said: “For me, those photos are art. Your body is art, your body is beautiful, and to be photographed in that way is amazing and it’s received in a very positive way.
“But with social media and the internet and not-so-great blogs and the attention like that, I don’t think that my pictures would be received in the way that I’d want them to be received.
“That’s why I’ve stayed away from them. I really appreciate those photos and I think those women are beautiful, but I think social media and the Internet has prevented me from putting myself out there like that.”
Upton recently stated that she was encouraged to lose weight by agents.
“They would say, ‘Just lose five more [pounds]!'” she recalled. “But I couldn’t give a crap. I still don’t.
“To me, agents don’t necessarily understand the realities of the industry; they’re sitting behind a desk. They’ve never been on catalogue jobs, they’ve never travelled like models travel.”
