Kathy Bates Injured : Actress injures herself at Golden Globe Awards

Kathy Bates injured? According to an eyewitness, the American Horror Story: Freak Show star was badly injured about an hour after the awards got under way at the Beverly Hilton.

“She limped back to her table and looked to be crying in pain,” the witness said.

Paramedics have reportedly rushed to the ceremony, though it’s unclear if they were tending to Kathy Bates’ injury. Her current condition is unknown.

Before her sudden injury, Kathy Bates made headlines at the Golden Globe Awards for inscribing the message “Je suis Charlie” on her cell phone . She was one of several celebrities to show support for the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo after the terrorist attack last week.

And while Kathy Bates did apparently recover in time to hear Froggatt accept the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie. Froggatt gave the AHS star a shoutout, telling the audience, “I just had a moment meeting the wonderful Kathy Bates.”

Hopefully this injury did not ruin Bates’ night at the Golden Globes. But we doubt her loss to Froggatt did. Bates said last month that she was happy just to be nominated for an award, especially since the series helped revive her acting career.

“ I’m very proud, and I didn’t expect it because it’s a very tough category,” Bates told ETOnline of her 2015 Golden Globe nomination. “It’s a tough category because there’s so much competition for roles like [my AHS character Ethel]. I’m just very grateful to be [nominated].”
