Katy Perry: Singer has cosy Christmas

Katy Perry insists her Christmases are ”not that fancy” and are just about spending time with her family.

She said: “We all make food together. My mother still does stockings, which is adorable – she still puts a toothbrush in my stocking and some extra socks. If we’re in town, we like to go to the movie theater. It’s really not that fancy – it’s cosy and onesies and sleeping in!”

However, the family don’t always stay at home and decide collectively whether to use the festive season to go on vacation.

She explained: “We talk about it a few months in advance, and figure out if we want to be Christmassy with snow or soak up the sun – it’s decided by committee.”

The brunette beauty – who is fronting a campaign for H&M and has even penned a song titled ‘Every Day Is A Holiday’ with Duke Dumont for the advert – enjoys making a special effort with her appearance over Christmas.

On her seasonal style, she said: “Glittery, of course. Velvet sometimes. I like a faux fur.

“I like putting an ornament in my hair – last year I had a little Christmas gnome. And I think red lipstick is super Christmassy. I wear a full tuxedo in one of the scenes in the commercial. I put it on and they were ready to pin it, but it didn’t need one pin. I’ve worn beautiful, chic business suits, but I’ve always had to tailor them, and this was such a miracle.”
