Michelle Obama has a warning for Washington — her daughter Malia will be driving this summer.
In a taped interview broadcast Tuesday by “Access Hollywood,” Obama talked about her daughters’ summer plans.
She said the girls are counting down to summer, volunteering and getting ready for camp and internships. She added one child will be driving this summer, then joked, “Look out!”
Neither the president nor First Lady will be teaching Malia how to drive. The main reason that the task will be delegated is due to concern for the safety of the Obamas, according to the FLOTUS.
“I think our agents don’t want us driving with teenagers,” Michelle Obama said on Live! Kelly and Michael. “I don’t think they want [the President] in the state when she’s learning how to drive. We will, fortunately, be able to hand that responsibility over to someone else.”
It’s unknown if a secret agent will be tasked with teaching Malia how to drive. It’s possible that an instructor will be hired and Malia’s detail will keep an eye on things from the backseat. The mother of two declined to give further details, simply stating, “We’ve got a plan.”
