Police say an alleged drunk driver was caught doing “donuts” with a sports car in the middle of a Barrie, Ont., intersection last night, with two children inside the vehicle.
Police say an officer was drawn to a cloud of smoke from a Camaro doing “donuts” in the area of Stanley Street and Birchwood Drive on Saturday evening.
When the officer stopped the vehicle, there were two 12 year old boys in the vehicle who were not the driver’s children, but acquaintances.
The officer believed the driver to be impaired and he did not have his vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock system which he was supposed to have from a previous impaired conviction.
He was also disqualified from driving, did not have a permit for the vehicle or insurance and when he had a breath test done he had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The vehicle was seized by police and the two boys were safely returned to their parents.
