Man Wins Lottery Twice in one day

A Norwood man hit a lucky strike, beating the odds and winning the lottery twice in one day.

Kenneth Stokes won $25,000 a year for life with a Lucky for Life season ticket Monday. He was stoked after learning the news that he’d won and almost forgot that he’d purchased a second ticket using the same numbers as his winning ticket, which represent his family members’ birthdays.

He called a Lottery representative right away to report that he had a second lucky ticket.

On Thursday, he chose the cash option on both of his winning tickets. He got two checks for about $390,000 and will spend it paying for his son’s college tuition, his daughter’s car payments and a family vacation.

The season ticket was purchased at Sulgrave News located at 417 Washington St. in Boston. The second inning ticket was purchased His second winning ticket was purchased at Convenience Food Mart, 492 Walpole St. in Norwood. Each store will receive a $5,000 bonus on its sale.
