Mounties in Selkirk are warning the public about a medication scam.
They say a 70 year old woman handed over two weeks worth prescription meds after getting a knock on her door yesterday.
The suspect was wearing fraudulent identification from a local pharmacy and requested the woman turn over the prescriptions.
The victim was duped into handing over two weeks’ worth of medication.
Upon calling the pharmacy to verify the request, the victim was told the man wasn’t an employee.
Anyone with information on the scam is asked to contact Selkirk RCMP at (204) 482-1222 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477
