Mendeecees Harris, star of Love & Hip Hop New York, will spend the next 97 months behind bars.
Mendeecees Harris, who is married to his co-star Yandy Smith, accepted a plea deal in April, which required him to plead guilty to narcotics conspiracy in exchange for an 8 to 10-year sentence and a $15,000 to $5 million fine.
It’s unfortunate that Harris will be forced to spend such a huge chunk of time away from his wife and four children, but the situation could certainly be a lot worse.
As we reported yesterday, season six of “Love & Hip Hop New York,” which premieres On VH1 Monday, December 14 at 8 p.m., will focus on the time leading up to Harris’ sentencing. We send our prayers to the Harris family as they cope with this devastating news.
