Microsoft has announced that it will open new data centres in Toronto and Quebec City but the company is not disclosing the exact locations of the centres or the number of jobs that they will create due to security concerns.
The two new locations will allow Microsoft to deliver Azure, Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online locally in Canada, Microsoft officials announced on June 2. General availability of Azure in these regions is slated for early 2016, and Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online “later in 2016.”
Microsoft already offers 17 Azure datacenter regions worldwide, including regions in Europe, East and Southeast Asia, Japan, Australia and Brazil.
Microsoft also announced Azure and Office 365 local availability in China via its local Chinese partner 21Vianet.
