National Drug Take-Back Day set for the weekend

This Saturday, the National Drug Enforcement Administration will kick off its 8th annual “National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.”

The nationwide event provides you with a safe outlet to properly dispose of expired and unused prescription medications cluttering your medicine cabinets. The DEA says the goal of the event is to help keep dangerous drugs off the streets and out of the wrong hands to prevent abuse and accidental overdoses.

The DEA says it also reduces the number of medications flushed downed toilets, which can lead to contamination of our water supply. During the event, anyone can stop by and dispose any type of prescription drugs with no questions asked.
