“White people shower a lot more than ethnics,” the 28-year-old star said during an appearance on The View.
“I feel like showering more than once a day, or every day, is such a white people thing.”
Naya Rivera said her mom is “half black, half Puerto Rican [and] she showers every day so I can say this.”
After being criticized on social media for her comments, Naya Rivera responded with a single tweet:
When you get out of the shower today, get a sense of humor. Love ya!

On The View, the Glee star revealed that her husband Ryan Dorsey showers a lot.
“Like two, three times a day. I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’”
Naya Rivera told the co-hosts she only has a full shower roughly once every three days.
“You bird bath,” she explained. “Everything important gets clean but you don’t need a whole dunking.”
Experts would likely back Rivera up.
“As long as people wash their hands often enough and pay attention to the area of the body below the belt, showering or bathing every other day would do no harm,” virology professor John Oxford of Queen Mary’s School of Medicine told The Times.
“Even twice a week would not be a problem.”
