Car2Go will face penalties if its parked car-sharing vehicles routinely take up more than a quarter of a block, as Mayor Naheed Nenshi cast the decisive ballot in favour of the anti-clustering policy.
The new restrictions mean Car2Go vehicles can only occupy up to 25 per cent of any given ParkPlus zone throughout the month.
The penalty for not following suit is a 25 per cent parking surcharge.
Jon Wycoco, Location Manager for Car2Go, has warned these changes may result in higher fees for users and less vehicles parked in the downtown core where they are used most.
