A powerful video which shows a little boy being led through a shopping centre by his mum lets you experience an impression of what it’s like to be autistic.
The clip, made to coincide with World Autism Day on Saturday, April 2, shows the sensory overload his body receives by the sights and sounds around him.
Familiar sounds and sights which would go ignored by a person without autism become the central focus of attention for the young boy and he become’s overwhelmed by the situation.
The powerful video has been released alongside a new report called ‘Too Much Information; which reveals how the poor common knowledge of autism is isolating people with the condition.
The tag line that goes alongside the new report is
“I’m not naughty – I’m autistic”
