New York City Bus Crash: At Least 6 Injured After Tour Bus Slams Into Rego Park Home, Officials Say

Several were injured after a tour bus carrying 40 passengers crashed into a building in New York City.

The Resorts World Casino charter bus lost control and careered into a corner of the property near Rego Park in the Queens area, officials said.

Among the wounded taken to hospitals were five people on board the vehicle and one person inside the building, fire department officials said.

Other reports said seven people were hurt.

Aerial footage of the crash showed the bus embedded in a corner of the large brick building, which includes a law office and apartments.

The front of the vehicle had ploughed through part of the first two floors.

A grey car parked nearby was also struck, CBS news reported.

Witness Ravendra Persaud, 19, helped pull people out of the bus before the emergency services arrived.

He told CBS: “This one lady, she was screaming because she was really scared and nervous. So we helped her get out.

“There was this older gentleman; he claims he was fine, but he was the first one that they took to the hospital. And then this other guy, his leg was broken, and he couldn’t get out. So he put both his feet over the window, and I tried to pick him down from there.”

But the bus driver was stuck for some time.

“I climbed up and looked at the bus driver,” Mr Persaud said.

“He was in a bad condition. I tried to move the glass and the bricks and everything that was blocking him, but it was too much, and I couldn’t help him get out.”

The emergency services managed to pull out the driver. He was in a neck brace and had suffered multiple lacerations to his face.
