Back in January he was arrested for throwing down in fisticuffs with a bouncer at a Florida bar, and now Nick Carter has been handed a 25-hour community service sentence for his misbehavior.
Nick Carter was scheduled to appear in a Key West court for a trial on Monday, but the case was resolved last Thursday after prosecutors agreed to drop the battery charge provided that Carter complete the community service hours and also pay around $300 in court fees. Despite alcohol playing a major factor in the pop star’s brawl, interestingly he hasn’t been ordered by the court to abstain from drinking. And if Carter stays out of trouble, his record will be expunged.
Nick Carter and another man identified as Michael Rae Papayans drunkenly entered the Hog’s Breath Saloon in Key West on January 13. After a bartender refused to serve the already inebriated men and asked them to leave, Papayans allegedly head-butted the bar’s manager, while Carter grabbed a bouncer by the throat and punched him.
Other bar employees immediately intervened and restrained Carter and his friend until the police arrived and arrested both of them. Skylar Carden, the bouncer who Carter allegedly attack, later filed a lawsuit against the singer seeking unspecified damages for pain and suffering. That lawsuit is still pending.
