Nicole DuFault : Teacher charged with sex acts on 6 teen boys

Nicole DuFault, 35, a New Jersey high school teacher who’s accused of having sex with six male students is named in a 40-count indictment charging aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.

Nicole Dufault was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 17 and charged with sexually assaulting five of her students at Columbia High School in Maplewood, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray. When the case was presented to the grand jury, a sixth victim was identified, according to Murray.

The victims were boys between 14 and 15 years old attending Columbia High School, where Dufault had been employed as a language arts teacher for about nine years, Murray said.

According to Murray, Dufault is alleged to have had oral sex and vaginal intercourse with the students on school property and in her car on multiple occasions.

“The indictment accuses Dufault of engaging in sexual activity with all six boys on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2014,” according to Assistant Prosecutor Gina Iosim, who is handling the case.

A video of Dufault performing oral sex on one of the students is in the hands of the Prosecutor’s Office, according to Katherine Carter, a spokesperson for the Essex County’s Prosecutor’s Office.

Nicole Dufault, a resident of Caldwell, is formerly of Bloomfield and is divorced with two young sons, according to the Prosecutor’s Office. On Oct. 19, Dufault posted $500,000 bail and was released from the Essex County Correctional Facility, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. She remains free on bail until her court appearance on March 6.

    1. “The report states that Dufault’s attorneys have planned a “vigorous defense” where they intend to convince the jury that the teen boys were the actual aggressors in the case.” Sadly, the only way this defense has any chance to succeed is if the teen boys were minorities.
