Nissan is recalling 846,000 Altima midsize cars from 2015 to 2013 to fix a problem with their hood latches.
The Problem: The secondary hood latch could bind and not fasten when owners close the hood. If the primary latch is somehow released, the hood could open while someone is driving.
Injuries/Deaths: None reported.
The Fix: Dealers will replace the hood latch.
If You Own One: The recall should begin in mid-February.
More Information: Nissan previously recalled the Altima twice for this problem – once in 2014 and again in 2015. This new campaign will supersede both of those. Nissan will contact all of the owners from the earlier recalls for them to get the new hood latch.
