If you are an iTunes use, which most likely you are, the OPP wants to warn you about an ongoing scam.

Users are getting emails appearing to be from the provider claiming $50 has been charged to their account. The email also says the user can apply for a refund.

The link for the refund requires you to submit your personal information and credit card numbers. Police are letting the public know that this is a scam designed to get your credit card information. If you ever get an email like this from any company, make sure to follow up with them to ensure it is indeed legitimate.

Tips on how to spot and avoid phishing scams

Protect your computer with anti-virus software, spyware filters, email filters and firewall programs.

Contact the financial institution immediately and report your suspicions.

Do not reply to any email that requests your personal information.
