Recognisable to millions as “Oxo mum”, the actress dies in her husband’s arms a month after revealing she would stop chemotherapy.
Awarded an OBE back in March, Lynda was best known her her 16-year-long role as the Oxo mum in the iconic television adverts.
Having been diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer in June of last year, Lynda decided to end her treatment in August to limit her family’s suffering, after the disease spread to her lungs and liver.
She planned her funeral to be held in Somerset, before a burial nearby in a plot next to her beloved father. She has also ordered her family and friends to hold a party in her honour. She leaves behind two sons and a stepson.
She recently said that she wanted to spend one last Christmas with her family.
Our thoughts are of course with Lynda’s friends and family during this absolutely heartbreaking time.
