The accused escaped after committing the gruesome murders. The local people shifted the bodies to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Tangi for autopsy. The people staged a protest when male doctors conducted the post mortem of the female victims due to lack of female staff at the ill-equipped hospital.

Police sources said that the accused Gul Ahmad Said had also killed his parents and two brothers over delay in his marriage last year. He had gone into hiding after the killings and there was no clue to his whereabouts.

Hazrat Nawab, the brother of the deceased Hazrat Jamal, in the first information report at the Mandani Police Station said that his brother had refused to marry off his daughter to the accused. He said this had enraged the accused and he eliminated the entire family.
