Peaches Geldof’s final Tweet was a photograph of herself as a child in the arms of her mother Paula Yates.
With the simple message “me and my mum” it now has an added poignancy given today’s events.
24 hours later, she was found dead at her Kent home.
Peaches – who had worked as a DJ, model and television personality – had previously admitted drug use as a teenager, but said in 2009 she was “sober now”.
Boomtown Rats singer Sir Bob led the tributes to model and journalist Peaches, who married singer Tom Cohen in Kent in 2012. The pair had two children, Astala and Phaedra, under the age of two.
A statement released by Sir Bob said: “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain.
“She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
“Writing ‘was’ destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child.
“How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever.
“How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.”
Peaches’ husband Tom said: “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and her two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday.
“We shall love her forever. Thomas Astala and Phaedra Geldof-Cohen”
