Puppy Rescued from Dumpster Gets a Second Chance (Video)

An injured puppy, less than 3 weeks old, was rescued from the garbage behind Planeview Travel Plaza in Oshkosh.

A worker says he heard whimpering as he dumped boxes, and found the puppy in a black plastic bag Thursday.

Employees viewed a video of the dumpster area, which showed a man placing trash in a dumpster and then walking behind the dumpster with a dark object. The man walked back toward the gas station empty handed. He is believed to have left the truck stop in a semitrailer with a red or maroon cab.

The puppy is being taken care of at a local veterinarian hospital and will require surgery to repair its broken pelvis.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to contact the Oshkosh Police Department at (920) 236-5700, or contact Winnebago County Wide Crime Stoppers at (920) 231-8477. Information can also be provided by texting IGOTYA and a tip to 274637 or online at www.winnebagocrimestoppers.org.
