The legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado (just outside Denver) went on lockdown on Thursday night after a shooting left three people wounded.
According to USA Today, “The shooter targeted the occupants of a white SUV that fled the scene after the incident. The three victims were transported to the hospital, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Their condition is not known.”
Police are still searching for the shooter, with only a vague eyewitness description to go on, but they say the shooting is not believed to have been random.
The motive is unknown at this time, as is any connection the shooter may have had to the victims.
The venue was on lockdown for hours Thursday night as police investigated and looked for the shooter. Concert attendees and their vehicles were searched. The last car was able to leave the venue at 3 a.m. Friday morning, according to USA Today.
“The SUV has significant damage to the windshield,” USA Today reports. “It appears to be a licensed limousine.”
